A few days ago a heavily pregnant mentally challenged teenager was rescued from the street.

The teenager was spotted roaming around Enugu – Agidi junction Amawbia, Awka Capital Territory by the state commissioner for Children and Women Affairs, Ndidi Mezue, and she immediately mandated the evacuation team to evacuate the young lady.

The team swung to action and rescued the scantily clad young lady. She was then taken to Community Children Home Awka where arrangement has been made for a psychiatrist to commence evaluation of her mental state and subsequent rehabilitation as she awaits her due date of delivery. Efforts to locate her family has already commenced.
