Eden Hazard missed a glaring opportunity to score during Real Madrid’s unconvincing 1-0 win over Galatasaray at the Champions League group stage.

The forward created a chance to double his side’s lead in the second half in Istanbul when he dribbled past home goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, but he inexplicably managed to fire onto the crossbar from eight yards.

But questions remain as to whether Hazard will succeed in Spain, having produced one goal and two assists in his first seven appearances.

The miss at Galatasaray symbolised Hazard’s underwhelming start at Real, and football fans on social media couldn’t help but stick theknife in.

One fan described the attempt as ‘miss of the season’ while another asked:
