Alvaro Morata has fully recovered from the hamstring injury he suffered at Anfield on March 11 during Atletico Madrid’s last match before the coronavirus-enforced suspension of football.
As such, Atletico now do not have any players out injured, with the first-team squad continuing to take part in training exercises within the confines of their own homes.
Morata, who during these four weeks has had to work on his recovery on his own – he even borrowed physiotherapy and electrostimulation instruments to use at home – although he has had the remote supervision of fitness coach Oscar Pitillas.
Therefore, having now recovered, Morata will start to follow the fitness programme laid out by Oscar ‘Profe’ Ortega, which uses GPS to control the squad’s progress.
Once everything returns to normal, Morata will be able to rejoin his teammates for training.
