The Senator from the Northern part of Nigeria, Shehu Sani has claimed in a Tweet that most big men who own big farms in the rural part of the country have abandoned their farms as a result of the increasing rate of kidnapping.

“Most Bigmen own Big farms in the rural areas for the sole purpose of accessing agricultural loans that comes with lowest interests & almost give away conditions.The productive peasants are disadvantaged. Now most of these farms have been abandoned because of kidnappings.”
