“Music isn’t about numbers” Jaywon cautions young entertainers who think they are doing better than their predecessors because they got streams

Following the recent debate on the impact afrobeat founder, Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s music has made, singer Jaywon has said that music isn’t about numbers but about the impact the music has on the public.

According to him, most young minds believe that music is all about the number of streams a song has, strong public relations, recognitions and money to throw around. He said contrary to this belief, a good music is one that is making impact, changing lives and touching souls. He opined that this is why Bob Marley and Fela are legends because they made songs that have outlived them.
