Music promoter K-Light laments, regrets marrying a single mother of two

Music promoter K-Light has admitted that marrying a single mother of two has been the biggest mistake of his life.

In a recent interview, the producer revealed he was already in a committed relationship when the woman sent him a friend request.

The Beginning of the Ordeal

K-Light explained that the woman strategically positioned herself after his then-girlfriend ended their relationship, citing family opposition to marrying a Yoruba man.

He later claimed the breakup was orchestrated by the woman who eventually became his wife, manipulating the situation “behind the scenes.” He said he only realised later that he had been under some form of influence.

Despite her being a single mother without a father figure for her children, K-Light said he fully committed to supporting them.

He funded their schooling, rented a self-contained apartment for her in Ibadan, and stayed elsewhere when visiting so as not to disturb the children.

As their relationship developed, K-Light rented a mini-flat in Lagos in preparation for their future.

He recounted giving her the bulk of his earnings, saying, “If I made ₦500,000, I could give her ₦350,000 first and still spend from the remaining ₦150,000.”

During the COVID-19 lockdown, he earned over ₦4 million from a project with artiste Dotman, using the money to pay her bride price and cover marital expenses.

After she moved to Lagos as his wife, they initially lived peacefully in the mini-flat before moving to a two-bedroom apartment when she became pregnant with his child.

However, K-Light revealed that her interest in the marriage began to fade during this period, marking the start of deeper marital problems.
