A Nigerian doctor has taken to Twitter to narrate her experience with a Lassa fever patient.

The young lady simply identified as, Dr Yetunde, revealed how she managed a patient with Lassa fever symptoms, then end up being on 21 days surveillance.

According to her despite following the normal precautions, she was still out on surveillance as her boss suspected that she might have gotten the virus.

She wrote;

Managed a patient recently with all the features suggestive of Lassa. Did the usual universal precautions, transferred patient to the only centre that could confirm diagnosis. 3 days after, diagnosis was confirmed and I was put on surveillance for 21days

Lmfaoo. It wasn’t funny and I couldn’t even tell anyone. I think my HOD was even panicking more than myself. Baba was calling t.d.s to ask for any fever spikes
