A Nigerian nurse has shared a tragic story from her workplace, recounting the heartbreaking moment a man lost his wife and child during delivery after 14 years of waiting.

After more than a decade of hoping for a child, he expressed joy and gratitude to God, believing that his long-awaited dream was finally coming true.

Joy Turns to Tragedy

Tragically, while the husband prayed, both his wife and newborn had already passed away during delivery.

The nurse said the scene was emotionally overwhelming, as she watched him unaware of the devastating news he was about to receive.

The incident deeply affected the nurse, who called it the saddest day of her career.

Reflecting on the moment, she wrote:

“Watching the husband pray outside the labor ward meanwhile the wife and baby are already dead. He said: ‘Lord after 14 years you finally did it, complete it and put them to shame.’ God, I’m so heartbroken right now. Saddest day at work. I kept looking at him praying through the windows knowing he’s about to receive the worst news of his life. The joy in his prayers. Oh God.”
