The new Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has reacted after his mother turns a year older today.
The 30-year-old former Super Eagles goal poacher arrived Old Trafford as a back-up striker on January transfer deadline day on loan for the rest of the season from Shanghai Shenhua.
Ighalo has scored three goals in his two starts for the club so far in victories over Club Brugge and Derby County and has also made an impact when coming on as a substitute in Premier League matches.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nation Golden Boot winner was introduced as a late change when United were a goal ahead in Sunday’s Manchester derby victory over Manchester City and played a key role in securing the win.
Ighalo shared a photo, from last Christmas, of himself and his mother as they were all smiley and happy but former Watford star wrote down a few words to celebrate his mum on social media.
Ighalo will hope to lead Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to victory when they face LASK in the Europa League last 16 on Thursday in Austria.
