A
Nigerian female referee identified as Basheer Salisu, will be officiating the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (U-17 AFCON) in Tanzania alongside three other female referees.
This is said to be the first time female referees will be officiating at a men’s football competition in Africa, and other female referees listed among the 29-match officials of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the 2019 U-17 AFCON, include; Jonesia Rukyaa Kabakana from Tanzania, Kenya’s Mary Wanjiru Njoroge and Lidwine Rakotozafinoro from Madagascar.
The Nigerian female referee who will be officiating the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (U-17 AFCON), will attend a training course with others, ahead of preparation for the tournament in Morocco scheduled to hold from March 31 to April 4 2019 in Morocco.
