Nigerian lady vows to ensure her male colleague who sent her sexual texts is sacked and deported

A social media post by a woman, identified by her handle as @Segilola__, has gone viral after she publicly called out a male colleague for sending inappropriate sexual texts late at night. 

In her post, Segilola who is based abroad, expressed frustration at receiving the messages from a new researcher in her office, who had only been working with the team for less than a month.

In the now widely circulated tweet, she stated, “You just resumed in my office as a new researcher from 9ja less than a month, a grown man, married man and you’re sending me sexual texts at 11 pm, if dem no sack you comot for this place call me bastard!!! Muritala will welcome you back soonest.”

The tweet, which has garnered over 477,000 views, quickly sparked an online debate about workplace harassment, boundaries, and consequences for inappropriate behaviour. While many users supported Segilola’s stance, urging her to report the issue to management, others like Twitter users questioned her decision to target the man’s livelihood. “Why do you have to come for his livelihood? That is too mean, the matter is not that deep now,” a follower commented.

Segilola, however, stood her ground, replying, “He should have thought about his livelihood before making my own livelihood uncomfortable for me.”
