Nigerian U23 forward Orji Okonkwo eyeing a move to Premier League in the nearest future.
The 21-year-old Benin-born attacker has enjoyed a great season in the Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Montreal Impact where he notched eight goals from 28 appearances from his loan team Bologna. Okonkwo is hoping that his performance with the Olympic Eagles at U23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt as he told brila.net that the Imama-led side is ready for the weekend clash against the Ivory coast saying, they are working very hard to impress the country and also their coaches. “Concerning my move away from the MLS, I don’t know yet.
“I might be heading to Europe, off cause, everybody wants to play in England you know, England is my dream league, maybe one day I will play in the league, he stated.The Olympic Eagles won the title of the second edition of the competition in Senegal four years ago as Amapakabo men begin title defence on November 9 against Cote d’Ivoire before facing Zambia and South Africa in their remaining Group B fixtures at the Al Salam Stadium. The top three teams at the eight-nation finals will qualify to represent Africa in the Men’s Football Tournament of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
