These two hunters (Amos Bitrus and Danjuma Sale) were arrested around Tungan-Baki area of Bauchi state on June 30th with 1 baboon, 3 patas monkeys, 1 porcupine, 2 warthogs, and 1 guinea fowl. The arrested hunters/poachers also had seven hunting dogs with them that attempted to attack the rangers.

According to reports, Danjuma had been previously arrested in Yankari game reserve – so he was sentenced to two years in jail. As a first-time offender Amos was sentenced to six months.
