NRC Suspends Officials Over Abuja-Kaduna Train Derailment

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended some of its staff over the train derailment linked to Kubwa Train Station.

Daily Trust reported that that some officials attached to the control room of the station and the driver of the ill-fated train have been suspended over allegations of negligence.

It was gathered that the officials who were on duty on the day of the incident, failed to call the driver to order as he was speeding beyond the regulated limit at a diversion within the parameters of the station.

A source told the publication;

”They have not reported to duty ever since as they have to be investigated first by a ministerial committee of the transportation minister for being found wanting.”
