In what will come across as a really startling development, one person has been confirmed dead in a lone accident that occurred on Saturday at the Giri Junction of the Federal Capital Territory.

It was learnt that a truck, with registration number, KA615FKY, and on top speed, veered off the road and plunged into the ditch.

A source said two other occupants have escaped unhurt.

The source said, “It was only the truck that was involved in the accident. Three people, including the driver ,were involved in the accident, but one of the occupants died, while the other two escaped unhurt.

“The body of the dead passenger has been deposited in the morgue. The truck driver was speeding and later lost control before diving into a ditch at the Giri area of FCT. The truck was badly damaged.”

The Federal Capital Territory Federal Road Safety Corps Sector Commander, Ogar Ochi, confirmed the incident, adding that officers of the agency had since cleared the wreckage.
