Oriyomi Hamzat, owner of Agidigbo FM, is currently receiving medical attention after being overwhelmed by the outcome of Olori Naomi’s charity event in Ibadan, where a stampede claimed the lives of 35 children.
Hamzat, who was present at the ill-fated event organized at Islamic High School, Bashorun, was deeply affected by witnessing the deaths and injuries of children. He was rushed to a nearby hospital shortly after the tragedy unfolded.
The party, co-organized by Queen Naomi Silekunola, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, and promoted heavily by Agidigbo FM, ended in chaos when an overcrowded venue led to a fatal stampede.
A source from Agidigbo FM revealed that Hamzat has struggled to recover from the emotional and physical toll of the incident.
“He was truly at the event, but when the stampede began, and children started collapsing, he couldn’t bear the sight. He also fell and had to be rushed to the hospital,” the source revealed to Sahara Reporters.
The Oyo State government and police authorities have pledged thorough investigations, while the tragedy continues to send shockwaves through the community.
