When they stay the sky is not the limit but the starting point for a talented player like Victor Osimhen, there is no need to argue because that is simply the fact.
Few weeks after he was voted as the Player of the Season at Lille, Osimhen has gone a step further to the win the 2020 Marc-Vivien Foe prize.
This feat makes Osimhen the best African player in Ligue 1 for the year under review.
Emerging as the number one African player wasn’t s a stroll in the park for Osimhen who saw off competition from his compatriot and Nantes Player of the Year Moses Simon and eight other African stars to win this prestigious award.
Algerian Islam Slimani (Monaco) and Morrocan Yunis Abdelhamid (Stade de Reims) had to settle for the second and third spots respectively behind Osimhen .
Saint-Etienne’s Denis Bouanga, Montpellier’s Andy Delort, Rennes’ trio of Mbaye Niang, Hamari Traore and Edouard Mendy were also in the race for the top accolade.
The 2020 Marc-Vivien Foe prize is the second individual for Osimhen, who was also voted Lille player of the season.
