Over 40 Policemen Invaded My House In Abia Over PetitionMax Nduaguibe (Video)

Dr. Max Nduaguibe, former Director General of Dr. Alex Otti’s 2019 Governorship Campaign Organization, has alleged that over 40 policemen invaded his residence in Umuomainta Nbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State in the early hours of today, Sunday, December 15, 2024, in an attempt to arrest him, ABN TV reports.

Speaking with our correspondent via telephone, Dr. Nduaguibe described the incident as unwarranted and unsettling.

According to him, the police arrived at his house around 4 a.m. in four patrol vans, claiming they were acting on a petition filed against him. However, the nature of the petition was not disclosed.

“They came in by what, about 4 a.m.? More than 40 of them, in four vans. They said they came to arrest me over a petition. I asked them what the petition was about, but they refused to explain. I told them that an invitation would have sufficed, and I would have honored it. Why come to my house at such an odd hour on a Sunday morning?” Dr. Nduaguibe questioned.

He revealed that despite his refusal to leave the house, the policemen remained stationed outside his property as of 10 a.m., drawing attention from villagers who gathered in protest.

“The villagers are here, singing and protesting. I still don’t understand what I’ve done wrong. If they wanted to arrest me, they should at least tell me the allegations,” he added.

Dr. Nduaguibe speculated that the police action might be linked to his recent public criticism of the government’s alleged plans to seize land in Nsulu. He insisted, however, that he had not personally participated in any protests.

“Is it a crime to stand against the government’s actions to forcefully take my people’s land? Have I been seen protesting? This seems like an attempt to silence me,” he said.

When asked about his next course of action, Dr. Nduaguibe confirmed he was preparing to meet the police. “I’m fully dressed and will go down to meet them. If they want to handcuff me or put me in their vehicle, so be it,” he stated.

ABN TV recalls that on December 3, 2024, Dr. Nduaguibe had raised concerns on his official Facebook page regarding land issues in Nsulu. In his post, titled “Ndi Nsulu and Alex Otti’s Greek Gift: The Legend of the Trojan Horse,” he warned the Nsulu community about deceptive offers, comparing them to the Greek tale of Pandora and the Trojan Horse.

The post, which criticized plans to host two international airports in the area, read in part: “A Greek gift is supposedly a favor given with the intention of harming or tricking the recipient. Ndi Nsulu, beware of an enemy even when he appears to make enticing offers.”

Dr. Nduaguibe was a key political ally of Governor Alex Otti in 2019, serving as the Director General of his Governorship Campaign Organization. However, his recent comments and actions suggest a growing rift with the administration, particularly regarding issues affecting Nsulu.
