Oyo Deputy Governor Drags State Assembly To Court Over Impeachment

Deputy governor of Oyo state, Rauf Olaniyan, has filed a lawsuit against the State House of Assembly for initiating plan to impeach him.

The Deputy Governor who recently defected from All Progressives Congress to Peoples Democratic Party, has been accused of financial recklessness, gross misconduct, and insubordination among other allegations.

His lawsuit against the assembly was brought before Justice Ladiran Akintola of Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, on Tuesday June 28, by his counsel, Chief Afolabi Fashanu (SAN).

Shortly after listening to the argument, Justice Akintola ordered that the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, and the Clerk of the House be put on notice before he adjourned the matter to Wednesday June 29.
