The Oyo State Police Command had warned the protesters not to organize a commemoration of the protests.

Even after a warning by the police against protest in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, many youths have come out to commemorate one-year anniversary of the End SARS protests on Wednesday.
Recall that the End SARS protests which took place last year were organised in order to protest police brutality.
The Oyo State Police Command, on Tuesday, warned the protesters not to organise a commemoration of the protests.
Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, advised parents and guardians not to allow their children to take part in the protest.
The police, in a bid to resist the protesters, stationed their vehicles and officers at strategic locations in Ibadan.
But, the protest took place despite the warning by the state police command and heavy police presence. Scores of youths on Wednesday dared the police command by staging the protest.
The youths took the protest to areas such as Iwo Road, Agodi and Oyo State Secretariat, noting that they had the right to peaceful protests.
They also called for the release of Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, a secessionist.
The protesters, who carried Nigerian flags, said that they were protesting peacefully.
