Islamabad, Pakistan – February 13, 2026 – Pakistani social media influencer and TikToker Imsha Rehman has become the center of a major online controversy following the circulation of explicit videos purportedly featuring her, leading to widespread backlash, severe trolling, and reported death threats. The incident, which first gained traction in November 2024, has highlighted ongoing issues of privacy breaches, digital harassment, and the vulnerabilities faced by female influencers in conservative societies.
Imsha Rehman, a rising content creator from Gilgit known for her engaging videos on platforms like TikTok and Instagram (where she previously boasted nearly 200,000 followers on TikTok and over 111,000 on Instagram), deactivated her social media accounts shortly after the videos began spreading virally. In a statement posted before going offline, she described the backlash as “overwhelming,” prompting her to temporarily disappear from public view.
The videos in question allegedly showed Rehman in compromising positions, sparking immediate outrage and intense scrutiny. Many users accused her of orchestrating the leak for publicity, drawing comparisons to similar scandals involving other Pakistani influencers like Minahil Malik. Rehman, however, has consistently maintained that the content was fake—either doctored, AI-generated, or created through hacking and manipulation of her accounts or images. She has emphasized that the material was fabricated to defame her.
In recent interviews breaking her months-long silence, Rehman opened up about the devastating personal impact. “When I saw the video circulating online, it completely destroyed my life,” she said in one emotional account. “I can no longer go to university or face people. I have been receiving death threats, and the fear is overwhelming.” She further criticized those behind such content, stating, “There are some on social media who think it’s cool to create videos of people and post them online. But they don’t think of how it will affect the lives of people.”
The controversy escalated to legal proceedings, with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reportedly arresting an individual named Abdul Aziz for allegedly spreading doctored videos of Rehman, traced through IP logs. In a dramatic court development in early February 2025, Rehman’s lawyer did not oppose bail for the accused during a hearing in Islamabad. The lawyer informed the judge that Rehman had pardoned the individual “for the sake of God” (Fisabillillah), leading to the court’s approval of bail and the accused’s release.
This case is part of a troubling pattern of leaked or manipulated private videos targeting Pakistani female influencers and public figures, including subsequent incidents involving personalities like Mathira Mohammad. Activists and social media users have condemned the invasions of privacy, calling for greater accountability from platforms, stricter cyber laws, and compassion toward victims rather than victim-blaming.
Rehman’s ordeal has reignited debates on digital ethics, online safety, and the severe societal pressures on women in the public eye in Pakistan. While some accounts linked to her name appear to have resurfaced or been created (with varying follower counts), the influencer has yet to fully return to active posting amid the ongoing fallout.
As investigations and discussions continue, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the real-world consequences of viral content manipulation and unchecked online harassment.
