PSG are aiming to overturn a 2-1 deficit when they welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Parc des Princes for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday night.

Neymar scored a potentially crucial away goal in last month’s reverse fixture, but strikes either side from Erling Braut Haaland ensures that BVB have a slender advantage.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus across Europe, it was announced on Monday that this game will now be played behind closed doors.

Team News

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel says Kylian Mbappe’s participation hangs in the balance, with the forward suffering from chest pains, adding he will be assessed ahead of Wednesday’s match at the Parc des Princes.

The hosts are without Marco Verratti and Thomas Meunier through suspension after both were booked in the first leg.

Midfielder Ander Herrera remains out with a thigh injury. Thiago Silva and Colin Dagba remain fitness doubts, but Neymar and Angel Di Maria are both fit and expected to lead the line.

Borussia Dortmund will be without Skipper Marco Reus (groin) and Thomas Delaney (match fitness) but Lucien Favre has no other injury concerns.

The two teams met earlier in mid-February when a double from young striker Erling Haaland proved to be enough for Die Schwarzgelben to win at home. 

Previously, the two teams had played out two draws in their only other encounters.

Since the first-leg defeat, PSG have racked up three straight victories, winning 4-3 at home to Bordeaux before easing past Dijon in a 4-0 victory and putting five past Lyon in a 5-1 triumph in the Coupe de France semi-final.

Dortmund are on a winning streak of their own, having picked up victories in their last five games. 

A 2-0 away win at Werder Bremen was followed by a slender 1-0 victory against Freiburg thanks to Jadon Sancho’s winning goal. Most recently, the 2-1 win against Die Fohlen was an impressive result against a tough Bundesliga opponent.
