CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF VISITS THEATRE COMMAND MAIDUGURI, URGES TROOPS TO INTENSIFY EFFORTS TO END TERRORISM
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on officers and soldiers of the Joint Task Force North-East Operation HADIN KAI to redouble their efforts in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the North-East region. This directive was delivered on Saturday, December 7, 2024, during his visit to the Headquarters Theatre Command, Operation HADIN KAI, in Maiduguri.
During his address to the troops, Lt Gen Oluyede emphasized his mission to engage directly with personnel, assess their welfare, and identify operational challenges. He pledged to provide the necessary support to enhance their operational efficiency and morale. The COAS reaffirmed his dedication to equipping the troops with the resources needed to restore peace and stability in the region. He also urged them to remain disciplined, focused, and resolute in their duties to accomplish their mission.
As part of his visit, the COAS toured the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital, where he interacted with injured personnel receiving treatment. He expressed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to ensuring they receive comprehensive medical care for a speedy recovery. Additionally, Lt Gen Oluyede inspected the construction progress of the 7 Division Headquarters Complex and reviewed repaired and refurbished combat enablers critical to the troops’ operational success
