Plateau United center-back Andrew Ikefe admits there’s great disappointment after their 1-1 draw with Gombe United on Sunday.
Ikefe was defensively rigid with series of solid interceptions and clearances as well as being in the right place at the right time to head home Plateau United’s opening goal from a Daniel Itodo long throw before Ibrahim Yahaya struck an equalizer nine minutes later.

He told Lodgexpress official website: “We are really disappointed because the team gave everything to win this game.
“It was really hard trying to break their tough defensive stronghold but I think we showed a lot of quality and character to win the game especially after we got our goal. We had a lot of chances to make it 2-1 before the final whistle but it didn’t happen and all the players are really disappointed.
“They made it even tougher by staying in defence and their tactics played out well for them.
Reacting to his goal, Ikefe added: “It is really good for me, but I’m disappointed because it was most important to help the team win and we drew.
“We knew we needed the victory but right now we just have to keep going and work hard.”
Plateau United are now ten points behind league leaders, Rivers United with just four games left.
