The death of two persons who died when thugs set ablaze campaign office of New Nigeria Peoples Party in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, has been confirmed by the Kano State Police Command on Monday.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident, said four of the suspected hoodlums have been arrested.

“At about 1600hrs, reports were received that, while the collation of results was ongoing at Tudun Wada LGA INEC Office, a group of thugs in large numbers mobilised and attacked the campaign office of the NNPP House of Representatives candidate and set the building ablaze.

“Two unknown persons in a stationary motor vehicle inside the building were burnt to death as a result of the inferno,” Haruna said in the statement.

According to him, the suspected hoodlums again mobilised and attempted to block the road leading to the INEC office adding that security personnel were immediately mobilised to the scene.

He explained that one of the thugs was fatally injured and was rushed to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

He said that investigation was ongoing after which the suspects would be charged to court.
