Police Corporal dismissed for killing Aba businessman

A Police Corporal, Obagi Njok who has been found guilty of killing an Aba-based businessman, Mr Emmanuel Okocha, by the disciplinary team set up by the Abia State Police Command to investigate the incident has been dismissed from the police force. 

The popular businessman from Abiriba, Ohafia LGA, was shot in Aba in April 2024 by Corporal Obagi Njok, which resulted in his death. Giving an update on its investigation, ASP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson of the Abia State Police Command said in a statement; 

“Police Corporal Obagi Njok (as he was then) was found guilty of discreditable conduct to wit misuse of fire arms and has therefore been dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force.

“Investigation into the criminal aspects of his conduct has also been concluded and the matter has therefore been handed over to the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Abia state on 24/05/2024 for prosecution in court.”
