A Kenyan police officer who allegedly sodomized a student in Langas, Uasin Gishu County has been arrested.

The security operative identified as John Ouko had on Thursday morning arrested 20-year-old Kevin, said to be student at Eldoret National Polytechnic for not wearing a facemask.

He reportedly took Kevin to his room within Langas Police lines after handcuffing him after the arrest.

A statement on his arrest read;

“He sodomized him and thereafter gave him ksh200 telling him not to disclose the matter to anyone.”

The student was then taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) where he is undergoing medical examination.

Uasin Gishu County police commander, Ayub Ali Gitonga who confirmed that the police has been arrested, described it as shameful and also appealed to the victim and his family to be patient as investigation is being carried out.

He said that all steps have been taken to ensure that justice prevails regardless of the status of the suspect.
