The President, who was at the palace of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, during the condolence visit, said he was in Kano for a national assignment but thought he should see them and sympathise with them.

President Muhammadu Buhari paid a condolence visit on Monday to the bereaved families of nine persons who perished in the Sabon Gari, Kano, gas explosion.
The President, who was at the palace of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, during the condolence visit, said he was in Kano for a national assignment but thought he should see them to sympathise with them.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, said his government has already provided N1 million to each family.
He said 27 persons were seriously injured and the government has taken over the medical cost of their treatments, adding that measures to prevent a recurrence have been taken.
Bayero thanked the President for visiting the families of those who died in the incident.
He said this signifies the President’s concern and love for Nigerians, adding that his Emirates would continue to pray for peace and stability in the country.
Bayero also commended the President for doing all he could to saved Nigeria from collapse, praying that the forthcoming general elections would be peaceful and Nigeria would have desired leaders like him who are concerned with the growth and progress of the nation.
