President Tinubu is now overfeeding Nigerians with wrong statistics from wrong unemployment figures – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, a former Labour Party presidential candidate, has attacked President Bola Tinubu, saying he has not fulfilled his campaign pledges and has been feeding Nigerians false information, including devaluing GDP and presenting inaccurate unemployment and inflation figures.

Obi referenced Tinubu’s 2022 campaign speech in Delta State, where he chastised him (Obi) and rejected the use of statistics, saying instead that he would concentrate on putting food on Nigerians’ tables. Obi claimed that in order to present a favorable picture of the economy, the President has now made it a habit to use “false data.”

The former governor of Anambra went on to say that competence and sincerity of purpose are essential for effective governance.

His post reads

‘’In November 2022, while campaigning in Delta State, the then APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, now the President, berated the other Presidential Candidate (Peter Obi), he was ashamed to call his name, saying “Na statistics we go chop all I want is to put food on the table of Nigerians”.

Now 2 years into his 4-year tenure, Nigeria is classified as one of the hungriest nations in the world with millions of Nigerians not knowing where their next meal will come from.

President Tinubu is now overfeeding Nigerians with wrong Statistics from wrong unemployment figures, wrong inflation figures, and now GDP rebasing, all to put a positive spin on our deteriorating economic and household conditions.
