Eden Hazard is the notable absentee from Zinedine Zidane’s 24-man squad for Thursday night’s match against Getafe at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

The Frenchman made clear during Wednesday’s pre-match press conference that Real Madrid need to go slowly with Hazard as he still looks to get back to 100 percent after recovering from ankle surgery.

As reported by MARCA, Real Madrid are trying to protect the 29-year-old, who is often fouled at the height of his recently-operated ankle.

Meanwhile, Zidane has opted to include Lucas Vazquez and Luka Jovic in the squad, with both having recovered from their respective injuries.
