Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea believes the return of Cristiano Ronaldo will make the club great again.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s return to Old Trafford was made official on Tuesday morning, as he signed a two-year deal with the option to extend for a further year.

Ronaldo scored a total of 551 club goals across spells at Real Madrid and Juventus after leaving United in 2009, and in an interview with the club, the 36-year-old said it is now the right moment for him to return.

However, De Gea stated that Ronaldo’s return is a dream come true for all Man united fans.

“It’s like a dream for all Manchester United fans, for us.

“His return is going to be great, you can feel it in the atmosphere. I hope he can bring something special to make the team even better.

“It’s great to have him.”
