Dr Bukola Saraki, the immediate past Senate President has congratulated former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his recent appointment as the AU High Representative for the Horn of Africa.

Saraki in a statement issued by his media office said that Obasanjo’s appointment was a testament to his “profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world.”

He noted that Obasanjo’s appointment would make Nigeria proud.

Part of the statement read: “I congratulate H.E. President Olusegun Obasanjo on the appointment as the African Union (AU) High Representative for the Horn of Africa.

“As the AU continues to work to promote peace and stability in and amongst its Member States, President Obasanjo’s profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world will undoubtedly help to meet these objectives.”

Saraki wished Obasanjo success as he begins his strategic assignment on behalf of the continent.
