A young schoolgirl has got herself trending online after she had to ‘smartly’ improvise a makeshift bag following the tough ban plastic bags in Kenya. According to reports, Kenyans producing, selling or even using plastic bags will risk imprisonment of up to four years or fines of $40,000 (£31,000) from Monday, as the world’s toughest law aimed at reducing plastic pollution came into effect.
The schoolgirl who went to shop at a supermarket – used locally available materials as a bag to package what she bought before heading to school.

Few days after NEMA said no more plastic bags, this school girl has proved she’s smarter.
Using locally available materials she came up with a nice bag (an environmental friendly one) , went to the supermarket, shopped for various items, packed in the makeshift bag. With a happy face and contented she walked to school ready to learn.

The east African nation joins more than 40 other countries that have banned, partly banned or taxed single use plastic bags, including China, France, Rwanda, and Italy.
