Distinguished Senator Andy Uba Weeps
– Arrives St. Phillips Catholic Church Ozubulu
– Consoles parishioners
– Visits Victims in the hospital
The distinguished Senator representing Anambra South had an unfortunate mood swing today Sunday after unknown gunmen attacked worshippers in a church in his constituency, St. Phillips Catholic Church, Ozubulu.
The incident which occurred around 9am Sunday morning saw about 8 worshipers dead with 18 injured (according to police report).
The Senator, who visited the crime scene spoke to newsmen after consoling some of the parishioners present.
His words:
“I was in the church when I heard the news, so I had to cut short my service to attend to this unfortunate incident. Right now, we are going to the hospital to see the accident victims. Incidents like this shows lack of neighborhood security and the need for community policing”
He urged the relevant Authorities to do everything possible to apprehend those who perpetuated this dastardly act.
He expressed his sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones and prayed that the good Lord whom they left their various homes to worship gives them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Senator Andy Uba who is Representing Anambra South Senatorial Zone Later visited Access Specialist Hospital and Maternity and Teaching hospital Nnewi where the victims of the Ozubulu Church Shootout are being treated.
– Renders immediate financial assistance, promises to do more.
