“She gave me her wig as collateral for ₦20k fare, only to discover…” – Bolt driver recounts shocking encounter

A Nigerian Bolt driver has shared his experience after alleging that a female passenger used a cheap wig as collateral instead of paying her ₦20,000 transport fare.

According to the driver, he picked up the lady in Gwagwalada after a heavy rainfall and agreed to take her to Mararaba. During the journey, she allegedly claimed she had just returned to Nigeria and frequently mingled with celebrities, making him believe she was wealthy.

The driver said he even hoped to ask her for help in securing a better job since she appeared to know influential people in Abuja.

In his words, he said:

“When we got to her location and it was time to pay, she said her phone had gone off. I told her to give me something to hold so I could come back for my money the next morning. That was how she removed her wig as collateral.”

Believing the wig belonged to an affluent woman, the driver said he expected it to be worth a fortune. However, things took a different turn when he contacted the lady the following day.

Rather than paying the outstanding fare as promised, the lady told him to sell it if he wanted to recover his money, leaving him shocked by her response.

“She told me she didn’t have any money and said if I could sell the wig, I should. I carried the wig to my neighbour who sells hair. She just laughed and told me it was an Okrika wig. She said if I go to Yaya Market on Wednesday, I can buy the same one for ₦5,000,” he added.

His story has since gone viral online, with many Nigerians reacting to the unusual encounter and sharing their opinions.
