Sir Alex Ferguson Gives Arsene Wenger A Vase On His Last Game At Old Trafford

Arsene Wenger was presented with a special gift from former rival and Manchester United former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, during United’s game against Arsenal, which is the Frenchman’s last game at Old Trafford.

Arsene Wenger, who will be leaving the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, received a vase from Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho before the kick-off of the game.

The message on the silver memento reads:

Presented to Arsene Wenger by Sir Alex Ferguson CBE and Jose Mourinho on behalf of Manchester United Football Club in recognition of the service to and achievements at Arsenal Football Club 1996-2018.

The home faithful gave Wenger a deserved ovation as the stadium rose to acclaim his 22 years in charge at Arsenal. There was also a warm reception when he emerged from the tunnel for the second half as the Reds won 2-1, thanks to Marouane Fellaini’s late header.
