Sokoto State Deputy Governor Resigns, To Contest Against Governor Tambuwal In 2019

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has resigned. Ahmed resigned yesterday, November 13th following his emergence as the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 election.

He will be contesting against his former boss Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who is the likely flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the poll. Aminu lost the PDP presidential ticket to Atiku Abubakar at the party’s presidential primaries in Rivers state in October.

The deputy governor resigned voluntarily and sources in the government house say Governor Tambuwal did not hesitate to accept his resignation.
