Southampton defeated high flying Manchester City with an early goal from the first half and the Saint was able to defend their lead against the dethroned Champions for the rest of the game.

Manchester City was caught unguided with a long-range shot from Adame Che in the 16th minute against as Southampton claims the lead after Zinchenko was disposed of up in the half field.

Southampton denied Manchester City some decent scoring opportunities with Fernadinho’s effort crashes against the pole and goalkeeper Alex McCarthy was called on duty on successive occasions.

Manchester City mounted huge pressure on the home team as they aim to find the equaliser but the dethroned Champions was unable to find the back of the net in the first half.

Southampton was solid in their defensive play as the Saints caused trouble for the visitors, Pep Guardiola made some tactical changes but the home team stuck with their plans for the entire game.
