Super Eagles will begin their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium when they welcome West African neighbour Benin Republic to the ancient city of Benin.
Gernot Rohr men have been drawn in Group L alongside The Squirrels, Sierra Leone, and Lesotho with the top two teams advancing to the tournament proper in Cameroon.According to Scorenigeria reports that top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have disclosed that the Super Eagles will host Benin Republic in an opening 2021 AFCON qualifier in Benin City November 11.The Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium was the home ground for the country’s U20 women’s team to qualify for last year’s U20 Women’s World Cup in France. Three-time Africa Champions have recently played their home games in Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba and Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.Super Eagles will kick start the qualifiers at home against 2019 quarterfinalist Benin Republic, before matches against West African neighbours Sierra Leone and tiny east African side Lesotho follows.
