Former Bayelsa midfielder, Osas Okoro said his age-long desire to play in Europe prompted his decision to reject an extension with Zambian outfit Buildcon FC.
In an exclusive chat with FCNaija, the former Heartland star revealed that he had to reject the fresh offer from Buildcon businessman Moses Mubanga who demanded his stay.He stressed that his agent had advised him to dump the club and return home in preparation for a trip to Europe, adding that he was stunned when no came through as earlier promised by his agent.” I actually enjoyed my stay in Zambia but I needed to move to Europe and my agent advised me to kick against any extension with Buildcon. I just want to leave Zambia and move on” I was assured that all is set to travel to Europe, but to my surprise, no deal came up. I had to join Rangers International,” he said.
The former Enugu Rangers player joined the Zambian club shortly after the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) held in Morroco and made his debut for Buildcon coming off the bench as they beat Kitwe United 2-1 in a friendly Match.Okro was one of the key members of the 2015-16 Rangers team that won the league title for the first time in 32 years.The petit midfielder maintained that he is not giving up on his dream of playing Europe in the nearest future.” I still want to play in Europe if any reasonable offer come. It has been my dream to play there and I’m hopeful it will come to pass,” he said
