Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has dedicated his Marc Vivien Foe best Ligue 1 African Player award for the 2019-20 season to his late father.
The 21-year-old Nigeria international was named as the winner after saw off competition from Algerian Islam Slimani (Monaco) and Morrocan Yunis Abdelhamid (Stade de Reims), fellow Super Eagles teammate Moses Simon (Nantes) and five other African stars to win this prestigious award.
Osimhen scored 18 goals and recorded six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions during his debut campaign at Stade Pierre-Mauroy has taken his Twitter handle to dedicate the award to his late dad and also applauding other nominees.
Osimhen becomes the first Nigerian to win Marc-Vivien Foe award for African Player in Ligue 1 for the year 2020 after Super Eagles legend and now coach Vincent Enyeama picked up the prize in 2014.
