Suspected armed robbers kill POS operator, flee with cash in Benue

A point-of-sale (POS) operator identified as Raphael Luther Akpetomun, was shot d3ad by suspected armed robbers in Gboko, Benue State.

The incident occurred in his shop on Sunday evening, March 8, 2026.

It was gathered that the victim was attending to customers when the assailants stormed the location. 

The gunmen attacked and shot him d3ad before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money. 

As of the time of filing this report, the Benue State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.
