Suspected kidnappers involved in auto crash after collecting ransom in Nasarawa

Suspected kidnappers were involved in a motor accident after collecting ransom in Nasarawa State.

The incident occurred at Angwan Mayo community in Kokona Local Government Area of the state on Monday morning, August 18, 2025.

It was gathered that the suspected criminals were attempting to flee the area after securing the ransom when their vehicle crashed. 

 Academic and research scientist, Professor Akyala Ishaku, who disclosed this in a Facebook post said the crash occurred while on his way to work.

Prof. Ishaku said the Nigeria Army and Police promptly responded upon receiving the report. 

According to him, the kidnappers escaped, leaving behind the ransom money and guns in their vehicle. 

“On our way to work this morning, kidnappers collected ransom and had accident at Angwan Mayo around Kokona with their Peugeot 406 loaded with Guns. Unfortunately they escaped leaving money and guns in their car. Thanks to Nigeria Army and Nigeria Police for prompt response,” he wrote.
