A suspected mentally challenged man, Kenneth Nwoha, has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing his wife, Mercy, and their six-year-old son, Simpson, at Isiofumini village, Ishieke community area of Ebonyi state.

It was gathered the suspect also attacked six other persons shortly after killing his wife and son on Wednesday.

The suspect became mentally unstable after waking up that morning, as he allegedly attacked and dismembered his wife.

According to PUNCH, an eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Six other victims, including a seven-year-old boy and a 60-year-old man, were attacked by the man on the street before the police arrested him.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Loveth Odah, who confirmed the incident said, “He is currently undergoing a medical check-up to ascertain whether he is actually mentally-deranged.

“The six victims who were critically attacked are receiving treatment at a hospital, while the remains of the slain have been deposited in a mortuary.”
