Suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ And Girlfriends Perish In Delta Auto Crash

Six victims have reportedly lost their lives in a motor accident in Delta State.

Punch Metro gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday when a truck collided with a Mercedes Benz car near Akala park along Ogwashi Uku-Kwale expressway in the state.

Witness told Punch correspondent that the incident, which involved some women who were going to the market, occurred around 4am.

“It was young boys and young girls that were in the new Mercedes Benz car, they were between 25 and 20 years old. We suspected them to be those yahoo boys.

“The victims have been deposited at the General Hospital in Ogwashi Uku, headquarters of Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state,” the witness said.

When contacted, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Ibrahim Abubakar, confirmed the incident.

He said, “The victims were three adult males and three females. the two vehicles scattered in pieces and it was difficult identifying the victims as a result of the impact of the collision.

“We couldn’t find the registration numbers of the two vehicles, either people took them away or because of the impact of the clash; we couldn’t just locate them.

“Two of the victims were trapped under the truck and it took our men hectic time to push out the truck before we could bring them out dead.”

Abubakar advised motorists to avoid driving in the night especially when they have issue with their sight and avoid high speed.
