Chelsea legend John Terry revelled in his return to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night despite Aston Villa suffering defeat.

The former Blues captain was given a hero’s welcome on his reunion with a club he made 717 appearances for and won five Premier League titles with.

The Villa assistant coach posted on Instagram on Thursday morning to say thank you to Chelsea for the greeting he received.

He wrote:

“Incredible to be back at the Bridge last night and see some familiar faces @franklampard @morriskid @petrcech @chelseafc.
