A pastor has stirred controversy after publicly discouraging a church member from proceeding with his planned wedding scheduled for January 2026, claiming the woman he intends to marry is not his destined wife.
In a video circulating online, the cleric told the young man that if he truly believed the woman was his wife, he should go ahead with the marriage and be prepared to face the consequences.
“If you feel she’s your wife, go ahead and marry her. Whatever you see in three months, you take,” the pastor said.
He further alleged that the woman has three children from previous relationships and claimed her family was deliberately concealing the information from the groom-to-be.
According to the pastor, if the young man confronts the woman about the alleged children and she denies it, he should bring her to him for clarification.
“If you ask her and she says it’s not true, bring her to me,” he said. The cleric insisted that the woman was not meant to be the man’s wife and advised him to cancel the wedding plans entirely.
“That woman is not your wife. Cancel it,” he declared. He added that the young man should return to the church for prayers so that his “true wife” would be revealed to him. “Come, let us pray so your wife will come,” the pastor said.
The remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users criticising the pastor for interfering in personal relationships, while others defended his comments as spiritual guidance based on discernment and faith.
