During investigation, Rahmon allegedly denied stealing the phone but that he bought it from someone at Orange Market, Ketu, Lagos.

He led the police to the place to arrest the alleged seller of the phone identified as Isaac Okenuga who also denied stealing the phone and led the police to arrest Daramola Abiodun and Olusola Orisansope as the people who sold the phone to him.

When questioned, Oke Moses allegedly confessed to the crime that he and Abdulrahmon Azeez stole the Samsung phone from the apartment of the complainant.
