Three killed as Russian missile strikes Zelensky’s hometown

A Russian missile strike on a hotel in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s hometown of Kryvyi Rig overnight k!lled three people and injured 31, with nearly half of the wounded in serious condition, authorities said Thursday, March 6.

Moscow has continued its bombardment of Ukraine even as discussions intensify in Washington and Moscow about potential negotiations to end the war, now in its third year.

“Three people died in Kryvyi Rig due to the night missile attack… Sincere condolences to the relatives,” said Sergiy Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region. He added that 31 people were injured, with 14 in serious condition.

The attack damaged a hotel, 14 apartment buildings, a post office, nearly two dozen cars, a cultural institution, and 12 shops, according to local officials.

Further north in Sumy, another strike hit a warehouse, killing a security guard. Kryvyi Rig, located about 70 kilometers (43 miles) northwest of the front line, had a population of more than 600,000 before the war.
