The three defendants were convicted on two counts of criminal conspiracy and adultery.

“A court has sentenced a 20-year-old man Aliyu Yahuza alongside his two accomplices to seven months imprisonment for sleeping with a 14-year-old girl on Wednesday, January 13.

Yahuza who resides at Goron Dutse Quarters Kano alongside Amir Rabiu, 19 and Musa Gambo, 19,  committed the offence on November 13, 2021 at Kofar Waika Quarters, Kano.

Police prosecutor, Mr Auwalu Dandago said the defendants criminally conspired and took the 14-year-old girl into a house located at Kofar Waika Quarters, where they had sexual intercourse with her one after the other.

The prosecutor noted that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 97 and 387 of the Penal Code.

The three defendants were subsequently convicted on two counts of criminal conspiracy and adultery.

Magistrate Farouk Ibrahim Umar sentenced the defendants to seven months in Correctional centre, with hard labour or pay a fine of N20,000 for adultery. He also sentenced the defendants to 12 strokes of the cane for conspiracy.
